Limited Edition Prints

By: John Thompson.

Prints, a new favored art investment for beginning art collections, is an interesting and attractive way to start a collection. Prints are cool, fashionable and affordable and they last almost forever. They are signed and numbered and a limited edition print can increase in value further on.

Why collect prints instead of original art work? Basically because they fit very well to anybody’s purpose if one cannot afford the prices of the originals. If one needs to fill a design gap in the house or in the office, some good quality prints would do the trick.

Prints are a cost effective way to bring in design elements at a fraction of the cost of remodeling or redecorating. One can enjoy art via fine art prints.

People can buy prints directly from the artist and even request a certificate of authenticity for them to keep it safely and know that this is an original work of art.

Do beware of fakes. Do beware of reworked or plagiarized art pieces and unscrupulous dealers. A limited edition for the prints should actually be very limited, like to 200 prints or else.

All in all, remember that when you are buying a signed art piece from the artist at a gallery opening, studio, art event or even online, that moment will be a special and very personal memory that you will cherish for a long time. This is priceless and you will possess something that you know for sure that is authentic. Each piece of the limited collection is unique; it could be hand-matted and framed and will make an important addition to one’s personal collection.
